LEFT HAND PATH
Left Hand Path is a hardcore band from Chicago that formed in early 2004. Four friends and former band mates, Dan, Pete, Andrew, and Dave set out to cure boredom and write music that does not sound like any of the current hardcore bands in the Midwest. With influences ranging from mid 80's NYHC/crossover and bay area thrash, Left Hand Path (then Dan on vocals, Pete on guitar, Andrew on bass, and Dave on drums) released a four song demo of short and to the point songs stating their opinions of the scene and spreading positive vibes at shows.
After releasing their first demo, they hopped on shows all over the Midwest supporting several touring bands. Since all the members were also in other bands at the time, they had the ability to play shows on their other band's tours and get their demos to people all across the South and the East Coast and solidify connections in many other cities. During this time, Left Hand Path was busy writing new material for compilations and gained a new guitarist, Eugene.
In late 2005 Left Hand Path went to the studio and put down six new songs for a 7" entitled, "The Wreckage" to be released in Spring of 2006. The theme of the record is displaying the downside of human nature and emotions, fear of failure, depression, and hatred. After releasing the 7" the band is going to be hard at work setting up summer tours and getting the record out to everyone they can.
